11th Gymnasio of Heraklion participated in the action "Toy gathering ... Gift Giving" which is organized in our city for the eighth consecutive year, with the common motto: "No child without a toy during this Christmas!" It is about an  action that has become an institution for Heraklion, from Love Radio Crete 102.8.

The action was co-organized with the Region of Crete - Regional Unit of Heraklion and under the auspices of the Municipality of Heraklion Crete Greece and the Christmas Castle.

Toy bags were distributed to more than 60 schools in the city, including the 11th Gymnasio, and many toys were collected at various other locations.

Through a network of volunteers, including students from the 11th Heraklion High School, accompanied by the English language teacher, Mrs Kyriaki Kydonieos, they collected, cleaned, sorted and wrapped the toys with colored wrapping paper.

The action was hosted at the Christmas Castle, on the city’s Central Square, on December 14th and 15th , during a two-day event focusing on activities especially for children and entertainment for children and adults too.

On Saturday December 14th, Grade 3 students and pupils had the pleasure of attending the first toy action collection concert, an explosive live and dance show by famous Greek artists that will be unforgettable! However, the biggest benefit is the moral satisfaction they gained by volunteering. Participation, trust, solidarity and reciprocity are values ​​that are at the heart of citizenship and that our students have had the opportunity to experience them closely!
