The first short - term exchange of the groups of students took part from 14th January to 18th January in partner’s school Zakladna skola, Dargovskych hrdinov 19, Humenne in Slovakia.
The main topic of the mobility was "Water is everywhere".
The students faced difficult lessons focused on water cycle, water pollution and its influence on plants and animals during the first mobility day.
Ecological footprint which every national team calculated by using of online calculator and then practically prepared from water and concrete will be the commemoration of this mobility and will have its place of honour in our school garden.
Exchange of knowledge and teachers experiences accompanied whole Wednesday. Students divided into eight teams solved the main research question - Why it is important to take care of cleaning the ocean. Very unusual and innovative method which connects more subjects together engaged the attention not only students but also their teachers and showed that in these days traditional teaching methods must go hand in hand with innovative methods such as CLIL, STEM and P2P.
The completion of week’s activities was creating of model of waste water treatment plant and of course completed water action plan with suggestions and recommendation for saving the water at each school.
Supporting activities took part outside the school and the students were given a big chance to see places which are very important for Eastern part of Slovakia. Water barrier Domaša and water reservoir Starina are places under the strict control and closed for the public. You can't enter these areas without the permission of Slovak Water Management Enterprise which is the highest national institution responsible for water management in Slovakia, its treatment and consumption. We could find out the difficult and complete process of the way water must run through until we can tap it and drink it. We would really like to highlight the approach of Slovak national authorities, who were helpful to our project activities and allowed to enter unique areas of their facilities due to educational purposes.
Great thanks goes to every teacher who involved and took place in this mobility for their support and help and of course every student who was a part of great project team and showed us the great ability and open-mind in working in international teams without prejudice and problems.
Last but not least we want to say thanks to students’ parents who bring them up and try to teach them how to behave and how to be polite.
